duozubair aasiyaAasiya Z. Zubair, 37, was found dead on Thursday at the offices
of Bridges TV in Orchard Park, N.Y., near Buffalo. Her husband,
Muzzammil Hassan, 44, has reportedly been charged with
second-degree murder.

Muslim Television Channel Founder Charged With Beheading His
Wife. The estranged wife of a Muslim television executive feared
for her life after filing for divorce last month from her
abusive husband and was found beheaded Thursday in his upstate New York television studio. By the muslim culture experts it has all the markings of an honor killing as Aasiya Zubair expressed through the legal system that she was being abused, and at the moment she asked for divorce, she’s not only murdered but she’s decapitated. This is, from a cultural point of view, an honor killing as honor killings typically are Muslim-on-Muslim crimes and largely involve teenage daughters, young women and wives while gruesome nature of the murder matches the characteristics of an honor killing.
NB According to anonimous police source, Aasiya Zubair was stabbed multiple times, suffering perhaps as many as three dozen stab wounds with a steak knife in a “frenzied killing.” She was then beheaded by the same instrument and according to this source, Mr. Hassan told police that because she was beheaded, she would not be permitted entry into paradise, a reference to his Islamic beliefs. “It was all about honor, and the dishonor she [the victim] was bringing upon him and his family,” stated this source. “There was definitely a cultural if not a religious aspect to these incidents,” added this source. Thus, the murder and beheading of Aasiya Zubair Hassan transcends the issue of domestic violence.

Muzzammil Hassan’s home in the suburbs of Buffalo is
has become a television production center of sorts. It’s home to BridgesTV, which bills itself as “the American Muslim lifestyle
network.”

Bridges TV is the brainchild of Aasiya Zubair, an
architect, and her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, a banker. They were
disturbed that negative images of Muslims seem to dominate TV,
especially after 9/11.
“I did not want my kids growing up to watch Muslims
being portrayed as terrorists,” says Zubair. The face of Bridges TV public marital partnership in the Hassans clearly had a false pretense of respect which revealed itself when Aasiya Hassan took out an order of protection against her husband and filed for divorce less than a week before her gruesome murder on February 12, 2009.
